Things didn’t look good on Wednesday night for Tino Livramento.

The Newcastle United and England defender forced off against Fulham after treatment on the pitch.

United going on to win the match in Tino’s absence, a late Lewis Miley header sending NUFC into a third Carabao Cup semi-final in four years.

One of the few negatives though, was seeing Tino Livramento forced off the pitch through injury and after the match Eddie Howe admitted: “It doesn’t look good. The fact he came off is a worrying sign. We are so stretched in that area so it would be a problem.”

As the Newcastle United Head Coach pointed out, Tino Livramento adding to an ever growing list of defenders on the injury list.

However, a positive update has arrived on the full-back via the media.

Craig Hope at The Mail is normally very reliable with his information on players in these kind of injury situations and he has now reported, his information is that Tino Livramento has not suffered serious ligament damage as first feared.

So his season is not over, nor his 2026 World Cup finals chances with England irrecoverably damaged.

Hope says that instead, Tino Livramento will be missing a more limited number of matches than first feared, with Newcastle United set to know exactly what the expected recovery time will be, in the next day or so.
